Hering - The Homeopathic Domestic Physician

Prescribing

Select the first remedy on the worst symptoms or even better, for the most recent symptoms. Always give one remedy. When it doesn’t do any more good, give another one. Get the symptoms first before looking up any one of them. Get the modalities (location; type of pain; better or worse by: time, weather, body position, eating, and sleeping) and concomitants (e.g. coughing with headache) before reading about it. Don’t worry about giving the wrong remedy. It usually won’t make a difference. Harm comes from giving too much and too often or giving one remedy after another without waiting for results. As long as there is the slightest improvement, give nothing more.

Administration of remedy

Four or five globules dry for adults, one for infants. For repeating doses, dissolve eight to ten globules in a half glass of water. For adults, take a tablespoon, and for children, take a teaspoon. In acute cases repeat from one to three hours. In chronic cases, repeat no more than once or twice a day. Wait from 10 to 30 minutes for very dangerous and painful cases. Wait one to two hours in serious complaints. Wait one to two days for chronic cases.
